Feeling about the trip to Kosum Phisai Maha Sarakham Province, Thailand, By Miss Hoang Thuong Huyen

Of all the destinations that I’ve ever been to, the trip to Kosum Phisai is one of the most unforgettable experiences in my life.

We had a chance to enjoy the trip to Kosum Phisai, which was kindly held by your university on the last day we stayed in Thailand. I could decide this is one of the most special things that your university offered us and this trip is also one of the most wonderful trips that I’ve ever enjoyed. Thanks to the enthusiasm of Dr. Craig, Dr.Supasorn, and other staffs, we were carefully taken care of and had a safe and meaningful journey.

To begin with, we had the chance to visit “Pra-Ming-Muang” and Kosumphi Monkey Forest. Each destination had different beauty and attractiveness, which gave me different impressions. At the Suan Sawan Art Gallery, I had a good chance to contemplate many masterpieces drawn on the silk by the talented artist. I could also have an opportunity to talk with artist’s wife about some of his wonderful pictures and his life. I felt so sorry to know that such genius passed away at a very young age. However, it is undeniable that his works are really brilliant and inspirable and I was excited to know that many of his works won the first prize in national competitions. He is definitely an outstanding artist!

Leaving the gallery we visited Esan Navel Points, “Don-Pra-Tane” and the last destination was Boeing-Gui, which was the most unforgettable experience in my mind. First of all, I was really impressed by the hospitality of people in that location. Because of some problems before the trip, we arrived 2 hours later than expected, therefore, local people from children to elder generation had to wait for us in the very hot weather and we were really sorry for that. However, they still smiled brightly and greeted us warmly with Vietnamese. When I apologized for some inconvenience we brought to them, they just said that “We were here for you. You’re welcome!” which made me develop strong feelings for them. They brought us some beautiful traditional dances and performances, which were really attractive. I was also taught how to dance with them, how to make silk from silk nests and was served much delicious traditional food. I found local residents familiar with Vietnamese rural residents – really kind, friendly and honest. Some students also told me that we are the first group of foreigners that visited their village and they liked it. They also made conditions for us to perform some Vietnamese songs and they clap their hands to encourage us. I was really grateful for that. At the end of the trip, we were served a delicious dinner with local food prepared carefully by local residents on the bamboo bridge. Having dinner in a cozy atmosphere created by local residents’ hospitality, under the lights of candles and in the gentle breeze was a spectacular scene that I will never forget in my life. I was definitely touched by the sentiment that people in this location spent for us.

It is undeniable that the trip to Kosum Phisai was absolutely wonderful and left many feelings in my mind. Thanks to your considerateness, I had the chance to broaden my horizon, expand my relationship and had amazing experiences. I think that I fell in love with this beautiful country, with people in this location already and I promise to visit this place again in the future.
